Saturday

This is a very low-key marathon (or half marathon) that begins and ends at Rich's cabin in Ashford, WA near Mt. Rainier. A BBQ dinner follows. If you're not a carnivore, then please bring your own goodies to throw on the grill. You're also invited to rack out at the cabin, but there are also nearby cabins and campgrounds that may be available (please make your own arrangements). Race will be capped at 25-ish people due to lack of parking and so Rich doesn't have to dig into his savings for BBQ supplies. :)

Race start time: Saturday, July 23rd, 2011
12 noon (no time limit, but don't make us have to go hunt you down in the dark!)

Course info: This will be an out-and-back on an old abandoned highway road. There are some inclines, but nothing a marathon runner can't handle. :) Some water will be provided at the start/finish, and at the turn around points, so you should probably carry your own hydration/fuel/etc. along the way.

Getting There: The cabin is located in Ashford, WA off of Skate Creek Rd. (Near Big Creek Campgrounds) Carpooling is a MUST! Please use the "comment" option on this page to coordinate carpooling. More specific details about location will be posted soon.

Other race facts:
  • Race numbers will be replaced by Native Northwest Animal names, as assigned by the race director. Don't worry, your given name will not impact your running performance.
  • Home-made race medals will be awarded to each finisher.
  • Rich is a really good outdoor cook
  • Results will be posted to this site within a couple of days after the race.
